whitefish waves will continue next week
as da tabbies take a
break from posting
and let me, the food service girl chime in.
=^..^=
the following is a true story
and while our posts run
the gambit
from stupid to insane,
I couldn’t have made
this $#it up
if I tried
this $#it up
if I tried
DATELINE: Thursday July 20th, 2017
4:50 pm
4:50 pm
I’m at the copy machine at work
waiting for some crap
to
come off the printer
when I happen to glance out the window
and see a burd
a
large burd
a burd of prey
a burd of prey
that should
NOT
be on the ground
nor that close to the building
I watched him for a few minutes
and his wing
seemed to be funky
but I know their wings can re adjust
or whatever
{ I’m not
into burd lingo
so please bear with me }
he
stood there long enough
for me to go back to
my personal hell hole,
my personal hell hole,
grab the cell, wait for
it to turn on
and snap his photo
then he takes off heading west
but his flight was low to the ground
and when he “landed”
it was a bumpy one
it was a bumpy one
I went down the hallway
to look out the side
entrance
and he was under a tree
I thought maybe he was chillaxin
from
possibly hitting the building,
but me gut, as tuna would say,
said he needed
help.
the other employee left in the building
and I, were able to
contact
a local rescue
who deal specifically with
wounded burds of prey
who deal specifically with
wounded burds of prey
and they said
they’d have someone
right out
we went outside
to keep an eye on him
to make
sure he stayed within sight
so when the rescue arrived
they could go right to “work”
we understood they’d have to
get in touch with someone,
some
slight traveling would be involved,
possible traffic tie ups,
they’re on volunteer time
etc etc……
fast forward your watches
a bunch
and the burd’s gettin “fussy”
a bunch
and the burd’s gettin “fussy”
he’d already moved
and had been "corralled"
to the best of our abilities
4 times
oh ~~~~~
oh ~~~~~
did I mention it was 90
the humidity was 81%
it threatened rain
and
there’s NO WIND
the burd decided to move once again
and like a couple of loons
we are now talking to the burd
telling him help was on the way
and everything was going to be…alright…
and to stay PUT
coz we are still unsure
if:
he can fly
if his talon is funkee
or why he was sitting on
the ground in the first place
and we were
able to stand as close
as maybe 3 - 4 feet near him
and to stay PUT
coz we are still unsure
if:
he can fly
if his talon is funkee
or why he was sitting on
the ground in the first place
and we were
able to stand as close
as maybe 3 - 4 feet near him
he has now positioned himself
under a shrub
on a very large rock
rescue finally arrives with sheet
Kevlar gloves
and carriers in tow
and carriers in tow
the lady from the rescue
approaches him
from his right
the other employee is
directly in front of him
I’m to his left
the other employee is
directly in front of him
I’m to his left
a sort of blockade if you will
and when the rescue gal
attempts to capture him………….
HE FLIES UP AND INTO
A NEARBY DEAD TREE ….
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ARE YOU
KIDDING ME...
ARE YA
FLIPPIN
KIDDIN
ME…..
FLIPPIN
KIDDIN
ME…..
and he remains perched there
and he was still perched there
when we employees left
the premises
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and he was still perched there
when we employees left
the premises
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
after watching said burd
for close to THREE HOURS
to make
sure he WAS OK,
the bass terd flies
up.... and into..... a..... tree
the end result of this story~~
the rescue told us
to keep in touch
to keep in touch
he could fly; a
good thing
he’s got shelter a plenty
to chillax in; a good thing
water is
readily available
as a marsh is
behind the building; a good thing,
and if his
leg was broken;
it would heal rather quickly
it would heal rather quickly
another good thing
if you’ve read this story this far
if you’ve followed this
