Well, that's nasty!
Hope the food service girl gets things worked out with the job, and if there is a local library nearby, they have wifi and computers to use.
The library may also have hot spots that they'll check out, so she can work from home.
Good luck, and don't let them get away with NUTHIN!

Happy retirement to the FSG! She has been waiting for this time to come.

Well, that sux! The nerve of the boss. Eastside Cats has a good idea about checking out hotspots.

We hope the Gurl enjoys her retirement! We agree with Eastside Cats about the library.

Congratulations on retirement - I'm jealous! Good to see the kitties are in fine form as usual - MOL! Have a happy first week of retirement.

Fired/Retired: all about the same in the end. More $ or Less $, all about the same in the end, well sort-a, kind-a. More cat time. More food time. More fun time. If'n there's more $. Whatever works. Ooops, no work. Whatever will be then.
Good whatever lies ahead.

We are all sorry to hear about your girl's job. Now the retired part we like, our Mom is reeeetired too. Been that way for a long time.

Happy retirement (or firing, as you put it) to L! OMC, we can imagine she's dancing for joy...well, the biped here will be when it's her turn. LOL.

Ditto on the wifi hot spots like libraries and cafés, etc., though of course they're not secure.

Your FSG will work it out. Right now just tell her to enjoy this new stage of her life! ♥

We agree - tell the FSG to try the local liberry !

I am so sorry FSG was forced to retire. At least she will be home to cater to your every whim now. XO

That totally sucks. We all send hugs to the Food Service Gal.

Well, we're not sure what to make of this, whether it's good, bad or something else. The only thing we can meow is you'll have more of FSG's time now. That will be fun. You can pester her all day long like we do with our mom.

I'm actually happy for FSG. Fired means she has to look for work in order to get monthly? checks, but retired means she hopefully gets checks from her former employer. You tabbies need to ask her, since the amount and quality of your food will affect her answer (grin). Happy retirement, dear L.

Tell her to get it together wif da eye pad. ;)

Charlee: "Wow, iPad data sure is expensive!"
Chaplin: "The Food Service Girl is going to have to get a new job so that she can still afford use her iPad during her let's call it 'retirement'!"

Retired is a good thing.

There are lots of ways to work around the data and internet service issues. All of my posts are written on the iPad in the notes section, then i upload onto a new post in Blogger. While i'm using notes, it's not using any data, that's just on my iPad, the only data use is the minute or two that i'm copying from notes onto a post in Blogger.

Once i've done that, i can do the final edit and schedule the post from my phone, which has unlimited data. Phone plans with talk, text and data can be very reasonable if you shop around.

Concatulations to the FSG on her retirement (or firing)! We hope she figures all that post-werkin' stuff out, and enjoys having some more time with all of you. :)

Meezer's Mews & Terrieristical Woofs said...

I hope this retirement was a planned thing, but if it was fired the FSG got stuck with, well, that is a whole new can of worms...he you can go fishing with the worms and get yourselves a yummy dinner!

Phones/iPads and PC stuff is a cash cow for those who hold the reins...and a hole in the pocket for the others.

I don't know how good they are, but wally world has some reasonably priced laptops. If you have a phone, the peeps in the phone store can help you connect the two via a blue tooth link-up.. Sometimes your phone can be turned into a hot spot as well. Public hot spots are a good way for hackers to get your info...and worse...we avoid those as much as we can.

Hubby is talking about those retreading-tires too...though I didn't think the treads were needing to be replaced...and I am not needing new tires yet, though by my age I could already, LOL!

We love you FSG L, and we love Mackerull and Daisy too!

Mom and I love all of you, FSG and all of you, so we hope to hear from you whenever you can. I had a friend once who was talked to strongly about using the computer at work for personal business. At least they maintained their job. We will be waiting for you whern we see you. XX

Oh Meowzer! We are devastated for you. We agree with go to the library. Maybe there are even cat lovers there happy to help. Your fan club will be cheering you on, no matter what.

Happy retirement, and we're really hoping that's what it is! We think doing anything aside from reading on an iPad would be a real pain, so definitely check your local public library for free wifi, and ours has free public computer use in one-hour blocks. Many people who don't own computers use our library every day, almost like going to work! We hopes you're okay!

Pam and Teddy said...

WHAT? "Real retired" or "forced retired due to the chopping block" ??? We're hoping it's the real thing but if they did the FIRING thing - there are a lot of us who would be happy to picket her former employer! Either way we hope things work out for the FSG. TROOOLY. Like others said, we have computers at our library open to the public so by i-pad or computer we do hope to hear from you all with UPDATES as much as possible. Yes we're nosy and yes we don't want to suffer from withdrawal of your posts!

Hugs and stuff.......Ted O Nator and the Mom O Nator

Fired or retired, I hope the FSG enjoys retirement! And yep, the library seems to be the consensus.

Saku said...

Fired or retired, either way it means the FSG will be there to answer to your efurry need. But I sure hope the green papers keep coming in or the quality of the food might suffer which means you'll suffer. Oh noes!

I bet your FSG will figure out that eye-pad thingy way more faster than my mom bean. AND she'll learn where all the free wifi's are in your town too. MOL!

I've got my paws crossed this retirement thing really was planned as a retirement and not somethin' else. But if so, Food Service Girl might decide there's more work to be done at home than there was at work and she wants to go back. Personally, I like to help out with a few household chores like uh... Hmmm.. Who am I kiddin'? I'm more of a MAKE work kinda guy, myself. MOUSES!

Kitties Blue said...

Oh jeepers, we sure hope you can at least post once a week. You don't want us to have withdrawal. Does this mean the food service girl is going to be home with you full-time! Yippee! If you visit our Sunday Selfies post, please accept our apologies. Oh dear, well, if it is retirement we hope she manages to actually enjoy it (dad says, "Retirement? WTF is THAT?). We here are struggling to stay on top of all our blogger furriends as it is, and we have this here laptop at our disposal day in/day out. Best to y'all and FSG, and we'll keep checking in for whatever/whenever you can post!

Hope everything works out as you want it to. Now everyday is a Caturday:)
Big hugs,

Well, We do hope the FSG really was retired, rather than fired. Whichever it was, she won't be able to make any excuses now for not being available to cater to your effurry whim, so make the most of it, guys!

I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope the girl can find another job soon. Apparently there's lots of jobs and not enough people to fill them. In the meantime, I hope you are eligible for Unemployment Insurance. I'm sending PAWSitive vibes your way.
