That goofy groundhog, we don't want any more winter!

He needs to go back to pestering Bill Murray and let spring show.

Nice to meet you Phil, even though you bring a longer winter.
Have a great Wednesday...

Yeah - bring on spring!

The groundhog here(no doubt some relation) did not see his shadow.
We saw on the internets some other relative(?) wearing a sign that said "I am a rodent, not a meteorologist"
Can you imaging the nerve?
The way our Winter is going(snowstorms, rainstorms) we think the groundhog is drinking!

We don't want any more winter either but don't think we get to choose no matter what the ground hog says. Have a great day.

MOL - I just wanna know why dat wimpy rodent are scared of his shadow.

We have 10 inches of snow coming on Friday and I'm pretty sure it's Phil de Thurd's fault!

Greg_1948 in_WA said...

We don't have no ground hogs here. Had to call in a mountain beaver named Rufus.

Ivan from WMD said...

It's good we saw this--we slept through Phil on Friday!

Sandra Cox said...

No more winter, Phil. We are done.
(I'll officially be back Friday, FSG:)

Phil should be fired.

Phil's often wrong, but this year he may actually be right. Too bad he hasn't much to say.

Poor Dai$y seems to be the straight cat today and Tuna serving up all the jokes. However, both Bleubeard and Squiggles agree that they have both chucked food and hairballs, but never wood.

So what would a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood? Perhaps you can find a wood chuck and invite him or her on your TV show, then pose that question.

Sorry we are late visiting, but we are really still not in sync with seeing your Cat TV on Wednesday. Good thing we set the VCR so we didn't miss an episode. Enjoy your weekend, too, dear Tabbies.

Another fun episode...though Phil the Thurd wasn't exactly forthcoming with scintillating dialogue. :-P

We'd like to blame him (and his ancestors) for the long winter, but some of us live in Canada and are going to get 6+ more weeks of winter no matter what he predicts. :-)

Maybe next time you will have better luck interviewing an eagle for the Fourth of July.

In our parts we had woodchucks seeing shadows and not seeing shadows. Maybe this is a result of global warming when everything is not as it used to be and we are entering the Great Unknown. We have this week had sun, cloud, rain, snow, sleet, ice, and then there will be melting. Maybe Phil could tell us if this is springter or winterpring.
Purrs, Meep P.S. In any even it is making my meowmie act like she ate the cranky Azz Cat Chow.

Hmmmmm Them groundhogs don't seem to be very helpful. Are we still havin' winter or not? MOL We gotta tell ya', it's cold here, but we didn't see any groundhogs on any day. Ya'll stay warm and toasty. big hugs

Luv ya'

Obviously, humans are insane, to hoist a poor groundhog/woodchuck/marmot outta his place o' residence, to make the poor critter predict the weather? Seriously, dudes...

Tamago said...

Hahaha another zip on conversation. Those groundhogs are really reticent! It was fun though and I enjoyed the commercial, too :-)

His cousin up here in Nova Scotia, Sam, saw no shadow at all. All I know is.. HE HAD BETTER BE RIGHT. MOUSES!

Phil de Thurd was a royal pain in the a** to interview! Did everyone hear the sound of crickets?! That is one tight lipped dude! ;p

the critters in the cottage xo

Annie Bear said...

I guess Phil de Thurd is the quiet type too. Rude!

Toona, you're not kidding. Chucking wood sounds very uncomfortable.

By the way, that's our favorite commercial!

Long live lumber! MOL!

Those groundhogs are not good at interviews. I can't wait to time travel to the 1940's,I love that time period. Have a great weekend! XO

Kitties Blue said...

Those groundhogs certainly are tight-lipped. Makes for a rather one-sided conversation. Maybe the thought of all the wood they had to chuck had them distracted. Better luck next week. Phil de Thurd sounds like a piece of Wood! We don't have gophers, woodchucks or Groundhogs here in Burnaby...but we DO have muskrats, rats and raccoons.SO, I, Marvelous went out to see if I could see my shadow!
I did not! I declare my winter is over!!!

You kitties have some interesting interviews! lol Hope you have a great weekend. The bad human took me to the vet and my lovely neck is all shaved again! :( Purrs Skipper

Colehaus Cats said...

Oh, AS IF a woodchuck could chuck wood. Ouch! Yep, we think jacking around is exactly what they're doing. Plus, profit! Somechuck is making money off this. You can be certain of that!

BeadedTail said...

That would've been an even more riveting interview if that woodchuck didn't go chuck wood. The bass turd.

Cathy Keisha said...

You should have given Phil a hot foot. I bet you would have heard him. Or axed about the time NYC's mayor diblasio dropped his cuz staten island chuck who died days later.

Katie Isabella said...

How much wood did Phil chuck when he went out to chuck wood? Now *I* can (up) chuck hair and fuds and stuffs, but never gnawed on enuff wood to chuck it.
Dai$y, you are my best furriend. I will be there waving my passport and I hope you have my ticket. Wait. Are we going on your Jet? If so...no worries. And heck with mom.

Never trust those rodents who purport to tell the future yet never say a word!!

Memories of Eric and Flynn said...

Seems like that Phil the Thurd has as much to say as his parents and grandparents.
Wow! You are going to be time travellers?

Anonymous said...

Phil the Turd is just that. He has lots of info but won't share. I say skin him and be warm. If, he is upchucking wood let's get him to build a house. That'd be fun.

Time Travel next week. Put me down for a seat amid the 40's.

I don't think you'll ever get a ground hog to say anything. They are too timid. They're afraid of their own shadows, for Pete's sake.

Gotta agree. Chukin wood would be most painful.
Hope all have a wondrous weekend, that FSG and critters have feet and paws up and enjoying themselves.

Living in Florida, we don't get too concerned whether Phil see's his shadow or not, since 6 more weeks of winter is just about the same as any ole day for us! Purrs from the Zee/Zoey gang!

meowmeowmans said...

Tabbies, we have a suggestion. Maybe we can set up an umbrella over Phil's hole. That way, he'll never see his stupid shadow. Problem solved! MOL!

Meezer's Mews & Terrieristical Woofs said...

Um...maybe that varmint sent us 13 inches of snow for revenge?? Hisses!
Maybe we need to stop getting that rodent out of his den...period!

Peachy, Faye, Granny and Angels Binky and Stippie said...

Tabbies, I was wondering if we have a normal Spring in our Country, as we don't have grounddogs around? Pawkisses for a warm week ahead :) <3

Sandra Cox said...

Even if Phil isn't very verbose, he's awfully cute. Just hide the tulip bulbs when he's around;)

Come on you two you can take him!!! The time for patience is over! This has been a crappy winter-- go choke spring out of that nasty groundhog!!

That weasely little rodent is getting on my last nerve. Sun came out, snow began to melt from the front garden. I started dreaming of a stroll through the garden and KABOOM, the staff are outside pushing huge piles of that white stuff around! At least it gives us something to watch out the window. Snow begone!
