Animal lovers are and were the bestest!
When the girlies were little, their parochial school used to have a Blessing of the Pets day. Ink hated the car and the carrier and the ride was too long so The Young One took a black Beanie Baby cat as Ink's stand in for the blessing. Pax et bonum!
His memory is a blessing, his ways are an example to us all.
Saint Francis is my favorite saint, even if I am not very saintly.
You forgot to mention that St Francis must be the patron saint of Trout Towne, too. I know he has met many a cat and brought him or her to Heaven, just as he did with Tuna. Thank God for St Francis.

Yay! TW used to work across the street from St. Francis Church in NYC. She's not religious but she found peace in that church and sitting outside in the garden by the statue of the dude.
