What a tale!
Goes to show why cats rule, and dogs drool...no cat would get all dirty like that!

to the dawg's nose, perhaps the tomato juice smelled awful and he had to get it off.

We miss our dirty dogs here, they were sweeties. The captcha thing is driving me nuts, but it's a short trip. 5th try.

Proof positive I was a cat in another life...I don't like my paws dirty and I don't like clothes dirty. Toto the mighty mini Dachshund would make a mad mach dach dash for the nastiest smells along the way during his walks. He was a brick shy of a load too never realized rolling in stink ended in a dreaded bath. Never encountered a skunk but I'm guessing Toto's in your face 'tude would have been more than the skunk would have wanted to deal with.

What is it about doggies, anyway, that they like stinkin' and being muddy? Tee hee he.

Hahaha dawgs love getting dirty! Ono sounds like a very happy dawg but it’s not a good idea to mess with skunks :-D
Niko agrees vacuum machine is the scary thing!

Have a great day xo

That was a funny tale. Sounds like Ono preferred to be dirty. When I was growing up I had a spaniel. She used to roll in everything stinky she could find. My mum used to say I had to bath her before she could come back indoors, so I did. Every time when I had finished she would run down the cinder path that led to the washing line and roll as if her life depended on it!

That was a good review. I always tell my hubby if I get sprayed by a skunk, just put me down. :) XO

Ono sounds a lot like Frodo--one of his faourite things to do is to actually roll around in the litter box to get the smell of litter (and sadly its contents) all over himself! No joke--sometimes he even walks around the house with a piece of poo stuck to his head that he acquired during a litter rolling episode!

There should be more Halloween movies with skunks because there is nothing scarier.

Our doggy cousins have had encounters of the skunky kind too, but none of us, thankfully...but MJF used to find the deer doo-doo and roll in that...YUCK!

meowmeowmans said...

MOL. We guess Ono preferred being muddy and grass-covered to smelling like tomato juice!

John Bellen said...

Tomato juice was just to get rid of the skunk-smell. Ono knew he had to get back the dog-smell, as well. A smart fellow. And hefty.

What a silly doggy. lol hope you kitties have a great week. Sadly Patch has not been well and had a vets visit. Keep well. x

That was one tall tail, Tuna. Thankfully the two dogs I owned in my life never crossed a skunk, but I bet they would have rolled around in the grass to get their dog smell back, too. Mine were both champions, so they would NOT have wanted a female to think they smelled like tomato juice.

FSG, you and your grandfather turned a stinky situation into a fun story. Hope you and the tabbies have a super Halloween, too. Perhaps we'll get one more tale before Halloween, too.

Yeah, a pity ONO had to learn that skunks violate several anti-chemical weapons treaties! At least tomato juice gets the job done.....
have a great week, troops!

We had a Saint Bernard when I was very young. My sister and I would ride him like a horse and he would let us, although he was probably a bit annoyed.

Mickey's Musings said...

Yikes!!!!!
The bath scene would be the scariest part of that movie as well as jumpin' in the pond!!!
I cannot imaging any cat going willingly into water!
That's just scary!!!!!
(Plus, we are smart enough to stay away from skinks ;) MOL!

I never knew tomato juice could be so effective against skunks; presumably it must act a bit like garlic??? ;)
